About Face – Bring on a Healthy Glow!

We all know that exfoliating is key to great looking skin. I religiously exfoliate my face, neck and hands two to three times a week.  Trust me when I say the process can become somewhat addictive, especially when you see how well your creams and lotions are absorbed afterwards.

A major drum roll please!  The absolutely best product to do the job is a natural aqua gel called appropriately “Cure”.  It also happens to be the number one selling beauty product in Japan, so I am just passing the word along!

I happened to stumble upon it at an old-fashioned apothecary in downtown San Francisco, which sold little known beauty products from around the world.  Intrigued by all the choices, I asked the salesman if he could buy just one product what would it be?  With a knowing smile on his face, he reached up to one of the top shelves and presented me with a bottle of “Cure”.

Since the directions on the bottle are also only in Japanese,  do what I do and shake the bottle first before dispensing a small amount in your hand.  Using your fingertips in a circular motion apply it to your face. In the mirror, you can actually see the dead skin flake off.

Then simply rinse off your face, neck and hands with lukewarm water and pat your face dry with a towel. The first thing you’ll notice about your face in the mirror is that glows.

The apothecary has since closed, unable to compete with big chain drug stores.   So it should come as no surprise to learn that Amazon now sells Cure online.

When I’m traveling and want a quick fix, I use Trish McEvoy’s Beta Hydroxy Pads or Dr. Dennis Gross’ Alpha Beta Glow Pads, which conveniently come in individually wrapped.  Both will do the trick, but given the choice, I would always pick Cure.

With Memorial Day launching the Summer season, this is the perfect time to update your beauty regimine!
