Happy Memorial Day!

I hope everyone has been enjoying a wonderful and relaxing Memorial Day Weekend with family and friends.  Spending time with our daughter Averell, who is visiting us from London, has been truly memorable!

In the past, I’ve never really associated Memorial Day with parades and all the red, white and blue pageantry associated with it.  In my mind marching bands and patriotic floats are  reserved for the 4th of July and Memorial Day is a time for quiet remembrance.

However the fact that my horse Willow was being riding by a member of the San Mateo Color Guard in the Burlingame Memorial Day parade was enough to draw me down 40 minutes south of San Francisco to see what all the hoopla was about.

Willow is the beautiful Palomino in the center!

I certainly was not disappointed.   The parade had all the small town charm,  which is being played out across the United States.

Come and have a look!

Just remember today and all year long!
