After a morning of wedding dress shopping in London, Averell and I hopped to it, and headed for full-blown Sketch afternoon tea.
One step inside of Sketch, with its perfectly plump, millennial pink tulip seats, a rose gold plated bar, pretty-in-pink velvet banquets, and brass table lights, you’ll no doubt feel as if you’ve been plucked off of Oxford Street and thrown down a rabbit hole.
Before ordering, we took time to check out the 300 plus David Shrigley sketches adorning pink walls. We couldn’t help but chuckle at Shrigley’s dark wit.
We then chose one of the 30 teas, champagne and the full English tea service.
Our hostess advised us to take our time sampling the delightful array of sweets and sandwiches set in front of us.
Did we listen to her, NO!
Before long we couldn’t eat ANOTHER BITE!
So we just sat back in our chairs and let the boozy tea wash over us.
We felt relaxed in all of this new British splendor as buses and black taxis sped past us outside.
If you go to Sketch, which I hope you will, be sure to check out their ladies room, complete with space age pods. Here have a look.
We skipped out of Sketch into the rain. Oh well, fantasies are not meant to last forever.
