Summer Series: Alfresco Baby!

Fresh ocean air, glimmering beach, warm ambience and oh-so-beautiful people are just some of the reasons  to make a dinner reservation at the Galley Restaurant next time you’re in Nantucket.  Oh yes, and let’s not forget about the utterly delicious food, which is inspired by the island’s abundant seafood and by the restaurant’s own organic garden.

While the menu contains a variety of New England entrees, seafood is clearly the star here. May I suggest you try the  jumbo lump crab cake, with cucumber, tomato and mint salad followed by a just caught lobster, all of which I consumed in a blink of an eye.

Since I know you’ll want to stick around after the sun sets at 7:30pm, why not indulge in a  warm chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream

I’ve been coming The Galley for years, starting when my father used to spend six months of the year on the island.  Every time I do, I’m always amazed by how the well heeled crowd stop what their doing when the sun sets  and  politely applaud nature’s magnificent performance.  It’s definitely  a Nantucket tradition worth exporting.
